Listen to Laurel on the Knocked up Podcast

Laurel is an experienced and compassionate Counsellor and Social Worker.

Laurel provides professional support to individuals, couples and families, with over 15 years experience in individualised counselling, group work and therapeutic casework.

Laurel is passionate about supporting individuals and couples through life changing experience and decisions. Laurel offers expert support to women and couples considering pregnancy options, coping with a diagnosis of infertility, during fertility treatment such as IVF, after suffering miscarriage and the perinatal period.

When thinking of starting a family as a couple or a single parent by choice versus freezing eggs, it can be beneficial to explore your feelings with a counsellor, to help clarify what is the right decision for you.

Many patients experience a range of heightened emotions and require extra support,  from fear of becoming a parent to excitement and hope, and at times, working through distress if a conception attempt or treatment strategy is not successful.

Laurel uses a range of evidenced-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness strategies and a strengths-based framework to build on the client’s psychological, emotional and physical wellbeing.

Laurel is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and a provisional member of The Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association (ANZICA).
