Dr Lironne Wein – Medical Oncologist & Consultant Physician
Dr Lironne Wein is a medical oncologist and consultant physician. Lironne studied Medicine at Monash University and also completed a Bachelor of Medical Science. She undertook her basic physician training at The Alfred Hospital, and was awarded the prestigious Royal Australasian College of Physicians Medal for Highest Achievement in Clinical Medicine.
Lironne trained in medical oncology through Peninsula Health, Cabrini Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Lironne undertook a breast cancer clinical trials and translational research fellowship at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She subsequently worked there as a consultant medical oncologist in the breast, gastrointestinal and carcinoma of unknown primary services.
Lironne has a special interest in managing menopausal symptoms associated with cancer treatment. She believes in optimising the wellbeing and quality of life of her patients, and has a holistic and evidence-based approach. She provides compassionate and individualised care to her patients.
Lironne is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Medical Oncology Group of Australia and the Australasian Menopause Society.
In her spare time, Lironne enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children.
